I started Obedience training in 1986. We bought a family pet in 1985, a Chow Chow. She was a wonderful pet but on my Vet's advice I enrolled her into Obedience classes. I loved taking classes and she wanted to please me. Ming ended up getting a CDX and was the first Chow Chow to earn a Utility leg. She died before we could finish the title. Her scores were high enough in Novice to enter the Gaines competition.

My next dog was a long haired German Shepherd, Kaiser. He was a UDT, Schl, Can. CD. My very first UD dog.

Another German Shepherd came my way. He is my once in a life time dog, so far. He is U-UD, U-ATCH Lazer Vom Bogenstatd UDX2, VDC1, OA, Can CD, and he was the number one GSD in Novice and Open. He was retired with 25 Otch points.

Rescued from the Humane Society came another German Shepherd, U-CD, AgI Brea V Sicherhause CD, Can CD, HT. She retired due to health issues.

My current dog is a Golden Retriever. He climbed into my car on the parking lot of the Golden Corral Restaurant. Dusty, as he is called, just earned his RN after six months of training.

I have taught obedience classes for the Springfield, Missouri Dog Training Club for about twenty years. I am a past President having served two terms.

I am a member of the vicious dog law committee in our local community. I like to do genealogy, collect McCoy pottery, grow African Violets, but most of all I love to train and show my dogs.
