Mic, an Aussie's Tale by Karen Schelling
In 1998, a red merle Austrailian shepherd was adopted from a local shelter and went on to become a skilled agility and obedience competitor. Pack dynamics eventually forced the re-homing of this dog, the aptly named Mickey Finn. This is the story of Mic's journey and the resulting impact upon his humans. On February 28, 2007, Mic crossed sweetly to the rainbow bridge. He was much loved and will be missed.

This is Jake by Karen Schelling
Jake of Heatherfield, a veteran agility dog loses his drive and motivation for agility. This is the story of one handler's attempt to come to terms with this situation and to make the best decision for Jake.
Dealing With Agression by Connie Cleveland
The Bad Actor: Daisy, the Cocker Spaniel showed up with her owner the first night of beginning obedience class. She hid like a snake at her owner's feet. Any time another dog moved in her direction, she flew to the end of the leash growling and snarling. The owner was given a penny can. A penny can is nothing more than an empty 12-ounce plastic bottle with 3-4 pennies inside. The next time Daisy lunged at another dog, the owner tapped her on the head with the penny can. It took two repetitions before Daisy sat, with her back toward the class, refusing to look at the other dogs thereby not engaging them in her game of intimidation

Book Review - Stephen Budiansky's The Truth About Dogs by Elizabeth Jarrell
Budiansky's The Truth About Dogs by Elizabeth M. Jarrell
Budiansky's book is yet another book that explores what is known about dogs based on scientific studies. However, what is different about this book, though never fully developed, is what Budiansky refers to as the two truths. Budiansky freely admits that some part of our relationship with dogs transcends science; and that some truly gifted trainers use their experience, intuition, and empathetic reasoning to go beyond science
Go The Distance by Cindy Brick
This 160-page manual, "Go The Distance" by Bud Houston and Stacy Peardot, on teaching distance skills has been a long overdue as a part of adding to the "bag of tricks" for everyone in agility. This manual offers a method of teaching a variety of skills to be developed by the dog and handler team that can be used on the regular agility course as well as preparing the team for exhibiting in the Gamblers classes.
